Maturing data science infrastructure drives record VC funding for AI startups
Artificial intelligence startups are riding high on rapid enhancements to open-source models, such as multilingual translations and deployment of computer vision along with text analysis.
However, VC funding in AI and machine learning startups demonstrated weakness in 2021 and grew less robustly than software VC overall. Startups in the sector collected $115 billion in 2021, growing only 87.2% year-over-year from $61.4 billion in 2020.
