Mr. Lars Fjeldsoe-Nielsen serves as Board Member at Hiya. He also serves as Advisor at VÅR Ventures. Previously, he served as General Partner at Balderton Capital. He joined Balderton in 2015 from the car-hailing service Uber Technologies in San Francisco. There he served as Vice President Mobile forging strategic alliances with global telco companies fueling Uber's rider and driver growth. Prior to Uber Lars was one of the first employees at Dropbox Inc. where he kick-started partnerships for the company. In the past decade, his work has resulted in more than a billion mobile handsets shipping with integrated mobile services. He is on the board of Voi Technologies, Labster Education, Tempow, Soundtrack Your Brand, The Org Inc, and the quantum computing company Rahko. In addition, he is an angel investor in Cambridge Quantum Computing, Zycada, Octant, Marble Robotics, Empirical Spirits, Kukua, Beacon, Monarch finance, Pocket (Acq. Mozilla), and Blue Bottle Coffee (Acq. Nestlé). Earlier companies he worked at include Voicesignal (Acq. Nuance), Skyhook Wireless (Acq. TruePosition), Ness Technologies (Acq. by OpenTable), T9 Tegic (Acq. by AOL). Lars has an MBA from London Business School, an MSc (mechanical engineering) from the University of Oxford, and a BSc from the King's College University of London. He co-invented and has been granted two US patents for deeply integrating services with handset OEMs and mobile operators. He serves on the Board of Trustees at London Business School, previously served in the Royal Danish Guards, and grew up across Africa.
