Description

Mr. Ajay Shah is a Co-Founder & serves as Managing Partner of Middle-Market Private Equity Fund & Sumeru Group Head at Silver Lake Management. He is also the Chairman and CEO of SMART Global Holdings (SGH), a publicly held portfolio company and Senior Operating Partner of Sumeru Equity Partners. He serves as Senior Advisor at Celesta Capital. He serves as Board Member at Mercury Healthcare. Previously, he founded Shah Capital Partners and served as Principal of that firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Shah was the co-founder/ CEO of Smart Modular Technologies, which he led through its public offering. Prior to that, he was in senior roles for Advanced Micro Devices and Samsung Semiconductor. Currently, Mr. Shah also serves on the Board of Directors of Velocity Technology, Locaweb, Telesoft Partners, and Alpha Petroleum. Outside of his investment activities, he is also on the boards of The National Audubon Society, a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum serves on the board of The Indian School of Business, and is a Trustee of the American India Foundation. Previously Mr. Shah has served on many public, private and non-profit boards such as Flextronics, Inc., Power-One, Stanford School of Engineering, and KQED Public Television. He has a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Baroda and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University.
